Crista
The renovation of the Crista Ministries Administration Building was completed in the historic Firland Sanitorium building. The project included demolition of the original 1913 elevator, including the associated shaft and counterweight system. Removing the elevator provided the additional room necessary for enlarged lobby and reception areas. Related work included renovating the existing first floor restrooms, offices and kitchenette. The extensive millwork installations by SGA’s in-house finish carpentry team paid respect to the building’s interior in both detail and quality. Special care was taken to maintain the integrity of the original construction.
SGA completely the renovation work while the building was fully occupied, posing many coordination and scheduling challenges. Through extensive planning and expert execution, SGA’s management team ensured a smooth construction process and minimal disruption to the building’s occupants and visitors.
